There are 4 main blood groups (phenotypes): A, B, AB and O. There are some also some rare blood types that fall outside of the major groups e.g. U- RzRz, Jk, Di Kp(b-), etc. In addition to the blood groups, another consideration is the Rhesus Factor (Rh) which can be positive or negative. In most cases, blood type does not matter, but being educated in advance is always useful.
